It's Beautiful Weather for a Hike in Mesa, AZ

Mesa’s Wind Cave Trail is a perfect hike for anyone (including your four-legged friends). The trail is 1.6 miles up and, of course, 1.6 miles down. The beginning of the hike is great for anyone--especially kids. It isn’t too steep and the desert’s beauty is incredible. The next few months will bring colorful wildflowers that you won’t want to miss! The hike becomes a bit more difficult as you get closer to the cave, but well worth it as you reach the top to see the sign “YOU HAVE REACHED WIND CAVE" and to have actually reached the cave. The cave area is shady and a great place to have lunch. Also rewarding are the views of the desert and the valley below.

How to get there: Take Ellsworth Road north of McKellips and continue north to the
Usery Mountain Regional Park.

Hours: The park is open from sunrise to sunset.

Fee: Admission is $6 per car.

Note: If your schedule is flexible, go early on a weekday morning. The trail is quite crowded on Saturdays.
